Description
The Grand Banks Eastbay series, designed by C. Raymond Hunt, is renowned for its excellent seakeeping abilities and comfort. The Compass Rose is a beautiful example of this. The EX version allows you to cruise fully open, but also sheltered under the soft top.
Highlights of the Compass Rose include:
- Hull bottom stripped down to the gelcoat and treated with a complete paint system (2024)
- Hull repainted (2024)
- Upgraded radar (2024)
- New windscreen (2024)
- New Webasto heater (2024)
- Renewed autopilot (2024)
- Extensive servicing of engines and generator (2024/2025)
In the cockpit you will find a cozy seating area with upgraded equipment, as well as bow and stern thrusters. Below deck is the galley, equipped with a 3-burner Princess gas stove, Sharp microwave, Princess oven, and Waeco refrigerator. Opposite the galley is a comfortable seating area with a dinette that can easily be converted into a double bed.
The head is fitted with an electric toilet and a pleasant shower. In 2022, the electrical system was renewed, upholstery was partially replaced, the interior lighting was upgraded to LED, and the old radio was replaced with a Fusion Bluetooth radio.

In words of the owner:
We have mainly sailed the Rose at sea. Over the past year, we’ve moored her in four different countries: England, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden. Altogether, we’ve covered about 2,000 miles. We’ve experienced her as an exceptionally comfortable and safe yacht.
In choppy seas, she’s at her best — steady and fast! On inland waters, in tighter spaces, she was easy to handle thanks to the bow and stern thrusters and twin engines.
As satisfied as we are with her performance, we have now purchased one of her bigger sisters: an Eastbay 49!
