Palm Beach GT50 nominated for Powerboat of the Year 2020

The decision has been made at the recent Cannes Yachting Festival 2019, the striking Palm Beach GT50 Open on her European debut has been nominated in the up to 20m category for the European Powerboat of the Year 2020 Award!

The GT50 is infused with the DNA of experienced sailing racers and was designed with performance and efficiency at its core, resulting in an alluring combination of fierce speed, sleek exterior lines and an ultra-lightweight build. She’s capable of a knockout top speed of up to 40 knots and boasts an economic 35-knot high-speed cruise while consuming only 40 gallons of fuel per hour. All of the bulkheads and fixed furniture are structurally bonded to the deck and hull resulting in increased strength, and a fully infused 100% carbon fibre deck and superstructure keep her centre of gravity low.

The under 20m category is the largest powerboat class for this award, the GT50 coming in at 16.4 metres overall. The award takes into consideration the practicality of living on the water, for example with how many people, at what comfort level and for what length of time. The judges also thoroughly analyse the layout of the boats up, the space onboard and last but not least, their performance statistics.
